Caramelized Bacon

~ With amazing fire-roasted-chile hot pepper jelly from Hacienda Maize ~

As if bacon needs any help! HOWEVER, kickin’ it up with fire-roasted-chile Jammin’ Jelly makes bacon bettah! See recipes for guacamole, Coby’s figs, and jalapeño poppers for suggested uses.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Prepare for baking rack-and-pan: line bottom tray with foil for easy clean-up and spray perforated baking tray with non-stick cooking spray. Cooling racks work well for this. Also, you can use a broiler rack and pan.
  3. Rub each slice of bacon with Jammin’ Jelly.
  4. Lay bacon on rack, separating slices as you can.
  5. Bake approximately 15-25 minutes to desired doneness, turning twice and drizzling on more Jammin’ Jelly during the process.
  6. Bake until still-pliable for some uses (poppers or skewers), crispy-dark for others (crumbled toppings). Or, bake until it’s perfect for you just as it is.
